Welcome to HSI 2016

The HSI Conference is now in its fifth edition, having previously been held at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, in Rome and in Coventry in 2014. There has been considerable growth in applications for hyperspectral imaging in industry and research in recent years and this event, following on from the success of previous meetings, will therefore draw significant numbers of attendees from all fields of hyperspectral imaging – MORE>.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Session 1: Martin Whitworth, Campden BRI (UK): “Mapping composition in food samples by NIR hyperspectral imaging.”

Session 2: Professor Anthony Vodacek, Director of the Center for Imaging Science, Rochester Institute of Technology, USA: “Remote HSI activities in the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science at RIT; phenomenology, algorithms, modeling and simulation, and applications.”

Session 4: Dr Himar Fabelo, Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: “The HELICoiD project: A comprehensive framework for real-time detection of human brain tumours using hyperspectral images”.

Dr Fabelo has notably been part of a team who has developed the use of hyperspectral images to benefit neurosurgeons. Read all about it in this euronews. article here: http://www.euronews.com/2015/10/19/saving-brain-cells-during-cancer-surgery/

HSI 2016 will bring together academic and industrial users to share their knowledge of innovation in hyperspectral imaging cameras, technology and applications.

This central England location is very convenient for attendees and in early 2016 ‘Coventry Arena’ rail station opened with direct connection to Coventry Mainline Station.
